Director
Stuart Beveridge is a fully qualified solicitor and Notary Public who leads the firm's criminal court work.
Since qualifying, Stuart has specialised in all aspects of court work with particular emphasis on criminal defence. He joined Grant Smith Law Practice in 2001, having previously been a partner at one of the largest firms in the North East where he dealt exclusively with criminal cases. His experience has strengthened the firm's legal defence team considerably.
A former President of the Aberdeen Bar Association, Stuart has built a strong reputation for representing clients at all levels, from minor offences in the Justice of the Peace Courts to high profile cases in the High Court of Justiciary. He appears daily in courts throughout the North East, ensuring clients benefit from his personal attention and expertise.
Stuart is authorised to provide Criminal Legal Assistance by the Scottish Legal Aid Board and is a member of the duty solicitor scheme at Aberdeen and Banff. He provides expert advice on all aspects of criminal representation including preliminary pleas, intermediate diets, summary and jury trials, and appeals against sentence or conviction.
