Born in Falkirk and grew up in Fraserburgh. Alannah attended NESCOL before studying at the University of Aberdeen, graduating in 2022 with a Bachelor of Law with English Law and in 2023 with distinction in the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. She completed a criminal defence traineeship with a firm in Peterhead before joining Grant Smith Law Practice as a qualified solicitor in October 2024.
Based primarily in our Aberdeen office with visits to the Banff office, Alannah specialises solely in criminal defence. She is registered with the Scottish Legal Aid Board to provide criminal legal assistance where clients are eligible. She appears almost daily across the North East in the Justice of the Peace Court, Sheriff Court, and as instructing solicitor in the High Court.
Since September 2025, Alannah has been a tutor in criminal litigation on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Aberdeen.
Outside of work, she enjoys concerts, gigs, and the theatre. She is also a keen gamer.
